On Lok PACE and On Lok 30th Street Senior Center give seniors their first baseball game experience.

Many of us have enjoyed several baseball games growing up, but for most of our participants today, this was a first! AT&T Park was the perfect ballpark to deliver the all-American baseball experience. Our tickets were graciously donated by the San Francisco Giants and the views did not disappoint! It was a perfect sunny day to watch a fun game surrounded by friends. Although the Giants came up short against the Dodgers, everyone had a great time.

On Lok 30th Street Senior Center participant Arlinda Hernandez said the experience brought back memories of when she used to play baseball as a kid in Mexico. “I used to play in the streets all the time with my friends. My favorite part of the game is when anyone hits a home run! Everyone jumps up and down, it makes it so exciting!” Arlinda has been a member of 30th Street for two years and loves the services available to her. “I love everything about the center. I’ve made so many new friends, I am able to take English classes in the morning and I get to salsa dance towards the end of the day. It’s such a lively place, otherwise I would just be sitting at home bored all by myself.”

Our Activity Specialist Nicholas Sager even gave everyone a crash course of the rules of baseball. Thank you to the San Francisco Giants for an experience our participants will not forget!
