Healthier Living is a six-week workshop developed by Stanford University to help adults manage ongoing health conditions such as arthritis, asthma, cancer, chronic fatigue, chronic pain, depression, diabetes, heart disease, hepatitis B or C, high blood pressure, HIV, lung disease, obesity, Parkinson’s disease, stroke, and more.
Workshops are facilitated by two peer co-leaders in a small group setting. Participants meet once a week for 2.5 hours, learning, sharing, and building bonds.
Learn strategies and skills to improve your quality of life:
Setting and reaching goals for better health
Communicating with medical providers and caregivers
Using mind-body tools, including better breathing and body awareness
Understanding medication usage
Getting better sleep

Become a Healthier Living facilitator or volunteer
You can support the Healthier Living program in several ways.
Attend a 12-day training to become a co-facilitator of workshops in your community. Candidates must be able to read and write fluently in English. Bilingual in Spanish or Chinese preferred.
The virtual training meets twice a week for six weeks. Each session is 2.5 hours.
The in-person training meets four days, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at 225 30th Street, 3rd floor, San Francisco, CA 94131.
Assist with community outreach.
