On Lok, a pioneer and world leader in Programs for All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) since 1971, announced the appointment of John Blazek as chief development officer. In this role, Blazek is responsible for executing strategies to develop donors and contributions to support each of On Lok’s business units. He oversees all of the organization’s fundraising activities, which include managing day-to-day operations and monitoring donor efficiency through coordination with staff and the appropriate committees.
“In addition to his strong track record of growing donor bases and managing important donor relationships, John is also very adept at creating and driving strategic plans,” said Grace Li, CEO of On Lok. “From fundraising to development strategy to operations, we’re excited to leverage his two decades of expertise to support On Lok’s next phase of growth.”
“I’ve been impressed with the innovative services On Lok provides for some time now, and I’m excited to join a group of healthcare professionals whose goal is to improve seniors’ lives across the Bay Area,” said Blazek. “I plan to work hard to develop and strengthen the ways in which the organization serves an increasingly diverse senior community through an integrated approach to health and social care.”
Prior to joining On Lok, Blazek was vice president of individual giving and chapter president at the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. The New York-based nonprofit supports leading international research and serves more people with MS than any other organization in the world. He previously held roles at Northwestern University School of Law and at the Archdiocese of Chicago.
Blazek, who currently serves on the executive leadership committee for the San Francisco chapter of Lambda Legal, was previously on the advisory board at Northwestern University Center on Wrongful Conviction. He was also a member of the National MS Society Task Force on Diversity. Blazek holds a master’s degree in divinity from the University of Saint Mary of the Lake, a doctor of law degree from Northwestern University School of Law and a bachelor’s degree in art history from Marquette University.
