Biography
As On Lok’s chief operating officer (COO), Nicole Torres executes the goals and priorities of On Lok's organizational strategy and oversees day-to-day operations across all On Lok programs and the enterprise. A twenty-year veteran of On Lok, she previously served as vice president of On Lok PACE, with responsibility for assessing, evaluating, planning, organizing, and directing the operations of On Lok PACE centers and related service departments.
Nicole began her career as a home care nurse with On Lok PACE 30th Street Center in 2002, steadily moving through various leadership roles that were both clinical and administrative in nature. Prior to On Lok, she held nursing positions in the acute care setting, including at Children’s Hospital Oakland (now UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland) and Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford.
Throughout her career, Nicole has maintained a passion for providing quality care to the communities we serve and advocated for better community-based care for aging populations. She has served as a member of the National PACE Association's education committee, research committee, nursing consortium, DEI leadership development workgroup, and workforce policy workgroup. At the local level, Nicole is an active member of the CalPACE Association She is a fellow alumnus of the Geriatric Nursing Leadership Academy (sponsored by the Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International in partnership with the John A. Hartford Foundation Centers of Geriatric Nursing Excellence) and is a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Practitioner.
Nicole holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from the University of San Francisco.
