Valorie Villela

Biography
As Director of WELL Senior Programming, Valorie Villela draws on 32 years of experience leading On Lok 30th Street Senior Center to help On Lok develop new programs for active older adults. In 2020, Valorie spearheaded WELL’s launch of the Aging Mastery Program (AMP) created by the National Council on Aging, a 10-week virtual workshop to help seniors fully enjoy the opportunities of increased longevity.
Valorie’s lifelong commitment to underserved older adults has driven her work in the field of aging for over four decades. In her roles of Nutritionist, from 1981 to 1987, and then Director of On Lok 30th Street Senior Center until 2019, she was responsible for the management and oversight of numerous programs empowering older adults to stay healthy, active, and engaged with their community.
Valorie has served on the board of directors of the Coalition of Agencies Serving the Elderly and was a member of San Francisco’s Long Term Care Coordinating Council from 2003 to 2022. She has also been on the faculty of City College of San Francisco, teaching nutrition and health education to older adults in English and Spanish. Valorie holds a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition Sciences from Whitworth College, Spokane, Washington.
